Approximately twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the state, bringing wind gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Hailstones and Extensive Destruction
Residents observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to 7 centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that various areas across the state had been hit with large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Meanwhile, around 1,000 households in the southern state also faced energy failures after the metropolitan area recorded its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services handled 598 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, more than twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were experiencing outages.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along much of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
Tuesday was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after past events where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the area.
