Passionate followers of the pop star are urging that a individual who leaped a barricade and touched the actress during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the Australian man shoving aside media personnel and lunging at Grande while the cast made its way down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo quickly wrested the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by security officers.

Mr Wen shared on Instagram recently that he was "released after being detained", though court documents showed that he was due to attend court on the following morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Event Invasions

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account includes clips of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers performance in the area last winter.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," commented an Instagram user, in a reply to a video Mr Wen shared of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" a different Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Express Concern Over the Star's Well-being

Several followers blamed Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed dealing with PTSD after a devastating incident at the end of her 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and harming numerous individuals.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Some supporters also criticised event staff at the Thursday event for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to ban Mr Wen's uploads.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In clips circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was approached by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by security.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the premiere activities carried on uninterrupted.

Many of Singapore attendees had queued up to see the cast of Wicked

Hundreds of attendees had gathered in a sea of green and pink at the Wicked: For Good international launch in a Singapore mall, including some who had stood in line for as long as many hours before it commenced.

The movie, to be released on 21 November, is the second of a two-part version of the popular stage production Wicked, which focuses on the unexpected friendship between two very different characters.

The production itself is a derivative of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the character Glinda Glinda, was adorned in a light pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.

They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and received a dozen award recognitions, securing a pair for outstanding attire and artistic direction.
