Iran Reports Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Iran's military claims to have hit a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched strikes across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing offensive against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have intercepted missiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard declared it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on Iran launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far focused on areas linked to the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
