Three Athletes Shortlisted for Young Sports Star Prize

England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Sports Personality of the Year award.
The trio have been recognised for their outstanding achievements over the last year.
Agyemang helped the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin surged to prominence with a record-breaking innings.
Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The 2025 recipient will be unveiled on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.
The ceremony will be televised from 7 PM GMT.
Michelle Agyemang
Age: 19 Sport: Football
Just three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a crucial and game-changing role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score crucial late equalisers in both the last eight and last four matches.
Her incredible contributions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Subsequently, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.
She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been at Brighton in a temporary move from Arsenal, ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in October.
"Being on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

The year started for Littler in incredible form as - aged 17 - he became the earliest-ever winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
His success continued - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he reached world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for Young Sports Personality of the Year is a big honour," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a major league or full member T20 international.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm deeply humbled to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young females to get into cricket."
