This weather system, which recorded wind speeds of up to 120 miles per hour as of 0600 Greenwich Mean Time, is currently turning toward the northwest in the Caribbean and is anticipated to reach land by early next week, as reported by hurricane specialists.

Alerts of blackouts and disruption to utilities have been issued as this storm produces up to thirty inches of rainfall and storm surges as high as 13ft above typical tides. "Seek shelter now," inhabitants have been told.

This hurricane is the thirteenth hurricane in the current Atlantic season, which typically ends in November.
